Select the sales channels

For Web

Select For Web to apply the Timed Sale to purchases made through your webstore.

For POS

Select For POS to apply the Timed Sale to purchases made through Shopcada POS.

For a POS Timed Sale, under This timed sale is applicable to, select:

  • Any Outlets to make the Timed Sale available at all POS outlets.
  • A specific outlet if the Timed Sale should apply only at that location.

Select both For Web and For POS when the same Timed Sale should run across both sales channels.

Select a price markdown type

Three price markdown types are available.

Percentage markdown

Reduces the original selling price by the specified percentage.

  1. Select Percentage markdown.
  2. Enter the required value under Markdown Percentage.

Example: A product priced at $100 with a 20% markdown will be sold at $80.

Fixed amount markdown

Deducts a fixed amount from the original selling price.

  1. Select Fixed amount markdown.
  2. Enter the required markdown amount.

Example: A product priced at $100 with a fixed amount markdown of $20 will be sold at $80.

Flat product price

Sets all applicable products at the same promotional price, regardless of their original selling prices.

  1. Select Flat product price.
  2. Enter the required promotional price.

Example: If the flat product price is set to $29, every applicable product will be sold at $29.

Include products in the Timed Sale

Under Select categories/collections of the products that will enjoy the discount in this timed sale event, select the categories or collections containing the applicable products.

Products assigned to the selected categories or collections will be included in the Timed Sale.

Exclude products from the Timed Sale

Under Exclude if products fall into following categories/collections, select any categories or collections that should not receive the promotional price.

Use this option when a broad category or collection is included, but certain groups of products must remain at their existing prices.

If a product belongs to both an included and an excluded category or collection, it will be excluded from the Timed Sale.

The rounding settings determine how promotional prices calculated using a percentage or fixed amount markdown are rounded.

  1. From your Shopcada Dashboard, go to Marketing > Timed Sale.
  2. Click the three-dot menu.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Configure the Rounding Precision and Rounding Rule.
  5. Click Save.

Rounding Precision

Select the number of decimal places to be used for the calculated promotional price.

For standard currency pricing, select Round to 2 decimal places.

Rounding Rule

Select how the promotional price should be rounded when the next digit is exactly halfway between two values.

Assuming that Rounding Precision is set to two decimal places:

  • Round Half Up: 3.145 is rounded to 3.15.
  • Round Half Down: 3.145 is rounded to 3.14.
